Biography
Dr. Vanness (PhD, Economics, UW-Madison, 2000) develops and applies methods to value health interventions and policies given uncertain outcomes and costs, including collaboration with Dr. Linda Collins and Dr. Jillian Strayhorn to develop Value Efficiency for MOST. Dr. Vanness' policy research focuses on value assessment for health care coverage and pricing, including influential work determining an opportunity cost threshold for cost-effectiveness analysis in the U.S. He directs the PhD program in Health Policy and Administration at Penn State, serves on the Editorial Board of Value in Health and on the Advisory Board for the Tufts-CEVR Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Registry.
